Use this page as a launch pad: open-source repository and release builds, plus a few public social channels. We do not host BIOS files here.
First visit? Start with our Download hub, then Setup for a full checklist. Stuck in-game? Try Compatibility and Support before changing many settings at once.

Safety checklist
- Prefer release assets from the linked GitHub releases page; confirm the publisher is the PCSX2 organization.
- If a mirror offers “one-click” bundles with unrelated software, close the tab.
- BIOS files are never supplied by the project—only dump from hardware you own.
Suggested reading order
- Download — grab a clean build and note the exact version string.
- Requirements — sanity-check CPU/GPU before chasing 4K internal resolution.
- Setup — BIOS path, game list, first graphics backend.
- Compatibility — how to read public databases and wikis for your game serial.
- Support — ordered fixes before forum posts.
For contributors & power users
Clone the repository, read the upstream README and build docs, and use the issue tracker for reproducible reports. Pull requests and testing nightlies are how regressions get caught early.
If you only need stable play, you can ignore this block entirely—releases are enough.
Glossary (quick)
- BIOS
- Console firmware dump—required for most retail games.
- IR / internal resolution
- How high the emulator draws 3D before output to your display.
- Renderer
- Vulkan, D3D12, OpenGL, Metal, or software—each has trade-offs.
- Serial
- Region/product code on the disc (e.g. SLUS/SLES)—use it when searching compatibility notes.
When links go stale
GitHub moves fast: if a social URL changes, start from the main repository readme and pinned release notes. This fan site mirrors intent, not every upstream edit.
Report broken outbound links on the tracker you use for this site, if applicable.
